LSGA Workshop on Wed 3 Jun 2009

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

The committee is holding a workshop at our normal meeting time and venue. This allows people to bring in their computers and go into various topics in a practical way and in a depth that is not possible during our more formal meetings. Participants will be guided by people with computer expertise, and they can learn by the “hands on” approach. Topics are chosen from amongst our talks given in previous months and from our Linux Learners’ Lounge.

This first LSGA Workshop shall be held on Wed 3 June 2009.

In addition to ad-hoc topics arising on the night, we expect to include:

  • Configuring a Linux gateway/router for wired and non-wired systems
  • Installing Debian Linux onto an EeePC
  • Using KDE4
  • Getting Wireless PCMCIA working on a Debian Laptop

The workshops start at 7.30pm and go in two sections of 45 minutes each. Everyone is welcome, and please bring a friend if you wish. There shall be a break for Tea/coffee, and biscuits. Cost for use of this Centre is $2 per person.
